MARTINE ROSE
Martine Rose is a British fashion designer known for her unique and subversive approach to menswear. She launched her eponymous label in 2007 and quickly gained a reputation for her unconventional designs that challenge traditional notions of masculinity.
Rose's designs often play with proportion and feature unexpected details, such as oversized silhouettes, bold graphics, and deconstructed tailoring. She draws inspiration from a variety of sources, including streetwear, club culture, and vintage clothing.
Rose has collaborated with a number of brands and artists over the years, including Nike, Napapijri, and Farfetch. Her designs have been worn by a number of high-profile celebrities, including A$AP Rocky, Rihanna, and Kanye West.
In 2021, she was selected by Louis Vuitton's menswear artistic director, Virgil Abloh, to collaborate on a limited-edition collection for the French luxury brand's "LV²" project.
The LV² collection, which was released in July 2021, featured a range of menswear pieces that combined Rose's subversive approach to design with Louis Vuitton's luxury aesthetic. The collection was also notable for its commitment to sustainability, with many pieces made from upcycled materials and featuring eco-friendly production techniques.
In addition to her work in fashion, Rose has also worked as a lecturer at Central Saint Martins, one of the world's most prestigious fashion schools.
